sweet n sour

we left for colorado last thursday. it was a fabulous trip besides elias having ANOTHER cold & ear infection. we'd been there, done that - we had fun on our trip regardless. his doc called in a prescription for him & he started it saturday, so up until then he was a bit grumpy. we had rented a "4wd or something similar" - and boy let me tell you, we got the something similar. we got a gas guzzlin' suv w/ no 4wd and it was rear wheel drive. what a rip off. we are not happy about that. none the less, it was pretty nice in colorado so we didn't really need 4 wd that often so it worked out.

b & i went up to copper on friday to snowboard. the weather was perfect & sunny & they had GREAT snow, it was so perfect. it was a fun time, we then went to breckenridge afterwards to hang out & b said hi to some old buddies. grammy came along w/ us so she & auntie watched the baby for us that day.

the rockies are breath taking no matter what season. it's always hard to leave, i feel like part of my heart gets left behind in them...i'm such a snowbird so i love love love the cold & snow. it's so cozy to me. someday we hope to call these home again...

(us for a breather at copper)

saturday we went to colorado springs to go see some friends i grew up with. it was a good day. i started to feel sick that day and it just kept getting worse. saturday night i hardly slept because i felt so crappy then sunday when we left to come back, i felt nauseated the first few hours of the drive, it was the worst. it let off though and my throat burning & head pounding did not let off. so along w/ taking baby to the doc this a.m., i took myself to the clinic & i have strep throat. youch. this is the first time i have ever had it! it just felt too different than a normal sore throat so i knew i should go in. as long as i keep up w/ the aspirin & throat lozenges & relaxation & not much talking or swallowing, then i feel semi-ok. i feel bad because grammy took over on helping w/ baby on the way home yesterday because i was just helpless in my condition, and today i'm not talking much to baby because 1) it hurts, and 2) don't want to spread germs! i hope i didn't give it to anyone in colorado...

Hope you both feel better soon. I remember having strep when I was little. I honestly don't think there are many things that make you feel worse than having your throat hurt like that!
