so our little man is 18 months old now! he had his 18 month check up on wednesday and he is 24lbs, 2 oz (25%) and 32 1/2" long (50%). he also is astounding us every day with something new, like the other night we were in his room playing & i asked him where his eyes were and he said, "eyeS" and pointed to his eyes. cute! i almost cried! a few minutes later, i asked him to go find his paci & blankie so we could go ni-night, and he went about his way to find his ni-night things, but was also carrying a big drum in his hands. and he ran. and he tripped. and he smashed his mouth into the drum, cutting that little thing inside the mouth that connects your top lip to your top gums (is there a real name for that little thing?) it bled like crazy for a few minutes and then let up quickly. poor little guy! that was our first boo-boo scare, i guess going a year and a half w/o a major booboo for a boy is not so bad...
we also went to the ENT dr. last week, the excruciating hour and 45 minute appointment w/ a toddler in a non-kid friendly dr's office wore a few years off my life i think...but e is scheduled to get tubes put in his ears next month. sad it has to happen but i am sooooooo beyond ready for him to be done w/ all these ear infections!!! i'm sure he is too, he is so happy and easy going when he's 100%! (i guess we all are really...)
another thing that is so funny, now that my hair is getting pretty long, i am loosing big strands of hair all over the house again, and he is quick to find them! he concentrates to pick them up w/ his itsy bitsy fingers, hold it in the air, and say, "uck, uck" while wrinkling his top lip...

Elias sounds like a dream! I read this out loud to Ryan and he got the BIGGEST kick out of the hair thing. Now you've got us wondering who in your house has an aversion to lost hair! Also, I was visualizing in lieu of reading the actual words...instead of strands, I saw clumps and got a little worried about you. Fortunately that only lasted until the word replaced the picture in my head! Kisses to all of you.
